Family Conflict
Family relationships can be deeply meaningful while also being complicated, painful, and difficult to navigate. Conflict may arise around boundaries, communication, parenting, divorce, life choices, identity, differing values, or longstanding family patterns. You may find yourself feeling responsible for everyone else's emotions, struggling to speak up, or repeating patterns you hoped to leave behind.
In therapy, we create a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore these dynamics while honoring your identity, experiences, needs, and boundaries. Using person-centered approaches, mindfulness and solution focused therapies, we help you understand family-of-origin patterns and how they may continue to influence your relationships, emotional responses, and sense of self.
We may explore intergenerational trauma, attachment wounds, people-pleasing, guilt, resentment, communication patterns, emotional regulation, and boundary-setting. IFS and somatic approaches can help you recognize the protective parts of yourself that developed within your family system and respond to them with greater compassion and understanding.
Together, we work on communicating more clearly, setting boundaries without unnecessary guilt, and learning when connection, compromise, or emotional distance may be healthiest. Therapy isn't about changing your family or forcing reconciliation. It's about helping you understand what you can control, honor your needs, and choose how you want to show up in your relationships.
Our goal is to help you navigate family relationships with greater clarity, confidence, compassion, and emotional freedom—while creating healthier patterns for yourself and the relationships that matter to you.
