About Lydia
I believe therapy works best when you can show up as your real, unfiltered self. You don’t have to have the right words, have everything figured out, or know exactly where to begin. My role is to meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and vulnerable.
As a mom, I understand how easy it can be to put everyone else’s needs before your own and how much pressure can come with trying to be a good partner, parent, professional, and person. I have a particular passion for helping women step out of self-doubt, perfectionism, and people-pleasing and reconnect with who they are and what they want.
I also believe that relationships are at the center of so much of our lives. Whether you are navigating conflict with a partner, figuring out how to communicate about money, adjusting to divorce or a new chapter, or trying to understand yourself within your relationships, I want therapy to be a place where you can explore those experiences honestly and without judgment.
I bring warmth, authenticity, compassion, and a little bit of humor to my work. I won’t pretend to have all the answers or tell you who you should be. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what is happening beneath the surface, recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you trust yourself enough to make choices that feel right for you.
Ultimately, I want you to leave therapy not only with more tools, but with a deeper understanding of yourself, a stronger sense of your worth, and greater confidence in your ability to create a life that feels authentically yours.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for lasting change. My approach is relational, authentic, and grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood, accepted, and comfortable being your authentic self. I meet each client with compassion, honesty, curiosity, and respect, creating space for both meaningful reflection and genuine connection.

What Sessions Are Like
Sessions with me are collaborative, conversational, and tailored to you. You can expect a space where you are encouraged to be honest, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and work at a pace that feels manageable. Depending on your goals, sessions may include exploring relationship and family patterns, developing practical coping strategies, practicing mindfulness, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, or using Brainspotting to process deeper emotional experiences.
My Treatment Approach
I use an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. My work incorporates Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and Brainspotting. I help clients better understand themselves, recognize patterns, develop practical tools, process emotional pain, and build greater confidence in navigating relationships and life transitions.
Treatment Philosophy
I believe healing happens through connection, safety, authenticity, and collaboration. Therapy should be a space where clients can show up as their whole selves without fear of judgment. I believe each person's experiences are unique, and treatment should honor their individual needs, values, relationships, and goals. My goal is to help clients develop greater understanding of themselves while building the skills and insight needed to create meaningful and lasting change.
Why Clients Choose to Work With Me
Clients choose to work with me because I offer a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental space where they can show up as they are. I bring experience working with adolescents and adults across a variety of settings, along with a particular passion for supporting women, couples, and people navigating relationship challenges, self-doubt, life transitions, and questions of identity and self-worth. I value authentic connection and meet each person with compassion, honesty, and respect.
My Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Canton, Georgia. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both my professional experiences and my own experiences navigating relationships, family, and life’s transitions.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kennesaw State University and began my career as an adult probation officer with Cherokee County. Through that work, I saw firsthand how deeply mental health, trauma, family dynamics, and life circumstances can impact people’s lives. It inspired me to return to Kennesaw State University to earn my Master of Social Work and pursue a career focused on supporting people through meaningful change.
Since then, I have worked with adolescents and adults in Drug and Alcohol Treatment Courts, Juvenile Detention Centers, private practice, and in-home community counseling. My professional journey also led me into leadership and administration, eventually becoming an Executive Director. Today, as a business owner and therapist, I understand the many different roles we can carry at once—and the pressure that can come with trying to balance them all.
My personal experiences have also shaped the therapist I am today. As a mom, I understand the joys, challenges, and mental load that can come with motherhood. As someone who grew up experiencing divorce and blended family dynamics, I have a personal understanding of how family transitions can affect relationships, identity, and the way we navigate connection with the people we love.
These experiences don't make me an expert in your story, but they have given me a deeper appreciation for how complicated life and relationships can be. I bring those experiences, along with my professional training, to create a space where you can be honest about where you are, explore where you've been, and feel supported as you decide where you want to go next.
